Frankie is super nice and a great instructor. After half an hour I was riding waves, and after the lesson he let me use the board some more to have fun (and I never surfed before).

Pura Vida certainly stood out to me when I researched many of the local surf schools. The other schools felt impersonal and rigid, while Pura Vida was flexible and relaxed.
I took lessons with my two daughters (ages 11 and 14). Franky was AWESOME! He was kind and patient. He fully prepared us on land, so when we hit the ocean, everyone was successful and got up on their first try. The girls built their confidence quickly and were able to start, paddle, and stand on their own.
Carrie took some wonderful photographs, so we ended up purchasing her pictures as well.
